Watch for Trout Lillies in the woods in late April. Trout Lilly has six yellow petals. The leaves are green and dark red speckled. The plant is named for their somewhat trout-like appearance. It is also known as Dog-toothed violet. Trout Lilly is a native spring wildflower.
