Watch for Tree Swallows near open fields, playgrounds, and lakes in early April. They will also nest in boxes made for bluebirds. Tree Swallows are iridescent blue-black-green on the back and white underneath. They make a twittering sound as they fly. They eat many flying insects as they swoop about.
