On mid-March evenings listen in fields to hear and see the male Woodcock's dance. They begin by sitting on the ground making a buzzy noise like "peent...peent". After a time they fly into the air twittering and circling to a great height. Next you'll see them fall to the ground like a leaf while chirping. It's an exciting show.
